Originating from a deep history of servicing tape and bucket brigade circuits, the Benson Delay was designed around a simple idea: repeats that feel alive. Not pristine and not perfect, but colorful, unstable, and musical in a way that evolves with every pass.
Reimagined in plugin form, the Benson Delay has been captured using proprietary component-level modeling, recreating the floaty, warbling response and chaotic degradation that defines the original hardware pedal.
From chorus, to collapse.
With a 30ms to 1250ms range, Benson Delay moves from tight slapback, chorus, and vibrato into expansive, blurred soundscapes. At shorter times it adds motion and dimension, while longer settings let the repeats smear, drift, and dissolve.
Smooth by design.
At its core, the delay is shaped with analog filtering and careful gain staging to avoid the sterile edge of modern digital delays. Time changes remain smooth and continuous, allowing repeats to stretch, warp, and degrade naturally.
Alive in motion.
A fully variable LFO shapes the delay, from subtle tape-like drift to deeper modulation and pitch movement within the repeats. Push the feedback and it opens into self-oscillation, where notes stretch and shift into more expressive, instrument-like territory.

MixWave plugin licenses include two activations. Activations can be used on an iLok USB, a machine activation, or iLok Cloud.
To use MixWave plugins you will need a compatible DAW that supports VST3, AU, or AAX plugins, an iLok account (free), and iLok License Manager (free).
A physical iLok USB dongle is optional. Plugins can also be activated using machine authorization or iLok Cloud.
