Overview
Known for pioneering transistor-based consoles, Electrodyne played a pivotal role in shaping the modern recording industry. Their forward-thinking designs became the backbone of many legendary studios during the 'Golden Era' of recording due to their superior sound and technical abilities. Electrodyne consoles were the very first to implement channel strips and automated faders, amongst many other innovations.
Utilizing our component level modeling technology, we partnered with Electrodyne to bring the revered curves and character of this classic 1960s EQ into the digital realm.
Introducing, MixWave: Electrodyne 511.
Versatility meets simplicity
A simple but powerful 2-band EQ that thrives in a variety of audio production scenarios. It’s gentle, wide Q makes it perfect for sweetening and balancing a variety of sound sources. Whether drums, vocals, or even the mix bus, the 511 offers incredibly musical tone-shaping while imparting that extra bit of analog depth and warmth.
Timeless analog warmth
Accurately replicating the smooth, wide filter bands and euphonic coloration of its hardware counterpart, the 511 offers lush lows, silky highs and a clear punch that bridges the gap between well-known British and American EQs, making it the ideal tool for adding warmth and richness.
Musical tone-shaping
True to its roots, the 511 features inductor-based EQ bands that deliver a unique and musical response. Its shelving and peaking filter options provide gentle but powerful tone-shaping that enhance the energy and presence of any audio source without sounding harsh or unnatural.
Vintage vibe, digital precision
From the transformers to the op-amps, the Electrodyne 511 stays faithful to the hardware while offering modern features. Unlike the hardware unit’s stepped pots, the plugin allows you to freely manipulate each EQ band for even greater control, while maintaining the classic analog feel that made countless engineers and musicians fall in love with it.
Built for modern workflows
Exclusive plugin-only features enhance this classic EQ for modern workflows. Get instant parallel processing with Dry/Wet mix controls, and use the input and output filters to high-pass or low-pass before and after the signal while working beautifully on both mono and stereo signals; bringing the sound of the Golden Era into the digital world.
